Bin Rescue Classes
Building on the success of its first bin-rescue course in June 2005, the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) will be offering two more in 2006. One is scheduled for May 9-11 in Berlin, MD and the second for June 13-15 in Frankenmuth, MI. The courses, designed to raise awareness about bin-rescue procedures and equipment, will provide extensive hands-on training.

Bin Rescue Training
The Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) has approved a plan that will provide two three-day grain-bin safety and technical rescue training courses in 2005 and 2006. If the programs meet expectations, others will be scheduled subsequently. In a meeting in Albuquerque, NM Feb. 26, the GEAPS board of directors agreed to contract with Madison Heights, MI-based Safety and Technical Rescue Association (SATRA) to develop and provide the training programs.

Bin Rescue Workshop
The Grain Elevator and Processing Society’s first-ever three-day binrescue training course in late June was a sellout. Registration for the class in Frankenmuth, MI was limited to 30, and that’s the number of participants from around the United States and Canada who came. As a result, the GEAPS International board of directors has voted to schedule two more courses in 2006.
